Thesis Oral Defense Examination
● A graduate student who meets the following requirements may apply for a thesis oral defense examination and submit an application to the Business and Management Department.
1. Students who have got acceptance for academic journal articles issued by domestic (international) academic research institutions.
2. Students who have published and completed the domestic (international) seminar.
3. During the period of master’s degree, the student won the professional technician certificate and was approved by the Department of Business and Management.
4. During the period of master’s degree, the student won the top three of the academic competition and was approved by the Department of Business and Management.
5. Other facts that are sufficient to prove that they meet the requirement may be determined on the basis of facts by the departmental meeting.
● Students should apply for Thesis Oral Defense Application Form and Academic Ethics Statement at least 7 days before the oral defense date. Submit to office department with thesis abstract and a copy of qualified requirement. (see attachments 1 and 2)
❖ Need to submit together with Thesis Oral Defense Application Form:
1. Thesis abstract
2. Thesis originality report
3. Seminar publishes report
● Oral Defense Examination at least shall be one member who obtains a Ph.D. degree comes from an institution outside of the Ming Chi University of Technology with great academic achievements. The master’s degree oral examination committee shall be composed of 3 to 5 people. (see attachments 3 to 6)
● The author shall be presumed to have consented to the public release of the work. If the author wants to delay public access, they need to provide related documentation and get permission from the departmental meeting. Then the author can check Delay Public Access on the Thesis/Dissertation (Professional Practice Report) Delaying Public Access Application Form.
● After the thesis oral defense examination, submit attachments 3 to 7 to the department office for examination copies. (see attachment 6. Only need a copy of the Oral Defense Committee Certification)
● Any matters not provided in these precautions shall be handled in accordance with the Regulations of Ming Chi University and other applicable rules.
